2. Rajasthan amends land rules: gigawatt-scale renewables and green hydrogen can secure land before grid hook-up (Policy · India)

II. Green Power, Storage & Hydrogen

4. Ember: European solar output rose by as much as 17% in summer heatwaves, but evening prices still spiked (Green power · Europe)

5. Ember: 2026 battery additions of about 459 GWh could shift roughly a third of new daily solar off sunshine hours (Storage · Global)

6. Noon Energy and Sabanci JV: up to 1 GW ultra-long-duration storage for US AI loads (Storage · US)

Energy-Storage.News and ESS News reported on Aug 14 that Noon Energy and Sabanci Renewables signed a joint venture on Aug 13 to co-develop up to about 1 GW of “ultra-LDES,” pairing Noon's reversible electrofuel / solid-oxide systems with Sabanci's solar and wind to supply 24/7 clean power for AI infrastructure. 7. Edify reaches financial close on Queensland hybrids: 360 MWp solar plus 1,200 MWh storage (Storage · Australia)

8. NEA hydrogen report: China's built and under-construction renewable hydrogen capacity tops 1.4 Mt/year (Hydrogen · China)

9. Record rain in Chiba, Japan: multiple deaths and thousands stranded at Narita Airport (Disaster · Japan)

11. Twin Gulf oil spills: Omani slick tops 2,000 sq km; residues reach Iran's Qeshm Island (Environment · Gulf)

12. US says Iran port blockade can last “indefinitely”; IEA cuts 2026 global oil-supply outlook (Oil · Middle East)

13. BP returns to Venezuela with XRG and Qatar's UCC as operator of Loran phase-two offshore gas (Oil & gas · Latin America)

14. South Africa's Constitutional Court kills Shell's Wild Coast exploration right after about R1.1 billion spent (Transition · South Africa)
