English demo

Chinese-first by design.
English-readable by public route.

Swil-News is primarily authored and reviewed in Chinese. The `/en` routes exist so public beta viewers can browse translated digests, topic archives, and RSS feeds without making English the product's primary editorial language.

Run record

The pipeline's own attendance

Every issue is generated, validated and published by an automated pipeline. How it did each day — whether an issue came out, how many topics it carried, how long it took, which topics failed — is kept in a file committed alongside the content it produces. The days it delivered nothing are still there.

Workflow

How this public beta is meant to run

1. Generate locally
Runtime stays on your own machine. Topic scripts call Cursor CLI, write markdown into NEWS, and refresh the local index.
2. Commit the output
Once the daily run looks right, commit the NEWS updates. The repository remains the public content snapshot.
3. Redeploy read-only
Your deployment picks up committed markdown and republishes the archive. Visitors read; they do not trigger runtime execution.

What “English support” means here

Publicly shareable routes
English readers can now open `/en`, `/en/news/...`, `/en/archive/...`, and `/en/feed.xml` directly with matching metadata and structured data.
Not first-class editorial ownership
Chinese remains the canonical editorial path. English works as a translated viewing layer, which is the right level for a public beta.

Next stop

The product remains local-first, Chinese-first, and beta-stage. That is fine. For your current goal, the right standard is: readable in public, safe in deployment, and easy for English viewers to understand without pretending the product is fully internationalized.
